About

The name

The Heptanese — Επτάνησα, "the seven islands" — is the old collective name for Corfu, Paxos, Lefkada, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Kythira: the islands along Greece's western coast that share a Venetian past, a wetter and greener landscape than the Aegean, and a habit of attracting people who stay. We took the name because we work across all of them, and because we think the choice of island comes before the choice of house.

How we work

We are a licensed Greek estate agency. That means a registered agent with a GEMI number, a written brokerage agreement before any viewing, and the disclosures Greek law requires on every listing — the energy class, whether VAT applies, whether a plot has a building permit.

We list fewer properties than the portals and we know each of them. Before a property goes live we have seen it, checked the basic documents and written the description ourselves. When a buyer asks a question we cannot answer, we say so and find the person who can — usually an independent lawyer, engineer or tax adviser, whom we will always tell you to appoint.

Who we work with

Buyers from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Greece and further afield; sellers who want their property presented properly in the languages their buyers read; and developers on the islands whose projects we market through automated feeds so that availability and prices are always current.
