Kalamaki is the resort at the eastern end of Laganas Bay on the south coast of Zakynthos, beside the airport and a short drive from the town. It shares the bay's long beach and its turtle-nesting regime but has a smaller, quieter centre than Laganas. It suits buyers who want an apartment or small villa near the airport for letting, and who accept aircraft overhead in exchange for a beach that is closed to development.

The beach and the airport
Kalamaki's beach is the eastern part of the bay's long strand, backed by low dunes and the nesting areas of the marine park, and the airport's runway ends almost at the village. The centre is a single main road of tavernas and accommodation with the beach at the end of it; behind, the ground rises gently to the villages and towards Argassi and the town.
Property
Property is apartments and studios in the resort, houses on the slopes behind, and villas with pools in the countryside between Kalamaki and the town. Building near the beach is constrained by the park, and the sea front is not a place to expect new supply. Portal averages in 2026 put the Laganas municipal unit, of which Kalamaki forms part, at around €2,650 per square metre, and apartments in Kalamaki are offered at €120,000–300,000 as an indicative band. Buyers are chiefly investors in rental units, British and Dutch for the most part, with some British retirees who value the flat ground and the closeness of the airport and the town.
