Laganas is the principal package resort of Zakynthos, on the long beach of Laganas Bay in the south of the island, a short drive from the airport. It is the busiest place on the island in summer and the centre of its nightlife, and the bay it stands on is a national marine park because of the loggerhead turtles that nest along it. It suits investors looking at apartments and small holiday units rather than buyers seeking a quiet home.

Area guide
The resort and the bay
The resort occupies the western part of the bay, a grid of streets of bars and hotels behind a wide, shallow beach. The marine park limits building, lighting and boat traffic along the nesting beaches, and the low-lying land around the resort carries much of the island's mass-market accommodation. Kalamaki is at the eastern end of the same beach beside the airport; Keri and its cliffs close the bay to the west.
The market
The stock is apartments, studios and small hotels, with some houses in Lithakia and the villages behind and villas on the slopes towards Keri. Portal averages in 2026 put the Laganas municipal unit, which also covers Kalamaki, Keri and Lithakia, at around €2,650 per square metre, down some 3% on the year, and apartments in Laganas are offered at €120,000–300,000 as an indicative band. Buyers are largely investors, British and Dutch above all, working on rental income, with Polish interest reported at the entry level; the luxury segment of the island looks to Vasilikos, the north and the Keri side instead.
