Lourdata, also written Lourdas, is a village on the south coast of Kefalonia in the Livathos, set on the slope below Mount Ainos above a long beach. The village is old and the houses on the hillside between it and the sea are mostly new, which sums up the area's market. It suits buyers who want a villa with a view down to the beach within half an hour of the airport, on the coast where most of the island's new building takes place.

The village and the beach
Lourdata sits high enough above the sea to see the whole bay, with the mountain rising behind it and the beach reached by a road down through the terraces. The slopes between village and beach are planted with olives, fruit trees and, increasingly, villas. Trapezaki is the next bay to the west; Argostoli and the airport are to the north-west along the coast road.
What is for sale
The stock is dominated by villas with pools on the hillside, most of them built in the last fifteen years, together with older houses in the village and plots on the terraces. Portal averages in 2026 put the Leivatho municipal unit, which covers Lourdata with Lassi and Svoronata, at around €2,950 per square metre, the highest of the island's units, and new pool villas on this coast are offered at €0.7–1.8 million as an indicative band. German-speaking buyers have long favoured Lourdas, alongside the British who make up the bulk of demand on the south coast, and a share of owners let their villas through the summer with gross yields on the island put at 5–7% under professional management.
