Svoronata is the village next to Kefalonia's airport on the south coast, in the Livathos, with sandy beaches below it and Argostoli a short drive to the north. It is convenient before it is picturesque, and that convenience is the point. It suits buyers who want a new villa with a pool a few minutes from the runway and the capital, with the sandy coast of the south-west at the bottom of the hill.

Setting
The village sits on the low plateau that ends at the sea in small sandy bays, with the airport beside it and the road to Argostoli running north. The Livathos villages around it, Minies, Lakithra and Metaxata among them, share the same olive-grove country, and the whole belt has become the island's main area for new building because of the airport and the beaches.
New villas near the airport
The stock is largely new: villas with pools in small groups on the plateau and above the beaches, along with older village houses and plots. Portal averages in 2026 put the Leivatho municipal unit, whose core is Lassi, Svoronata and the airport belt, at around €2,950 per square metre, the highest on Kefalonia, and a new villa with pool here is offered at €0.7–1.8 million as an indicative band. Buyers are British, Dutch, Belgian and Israeli, the last drawn by year-round flights from Tel Aviv to Kefalonia, and a large share of purchases are made with summer letting in mind. Aircraft noise is a question to settle on a viewing rather than from a brochure.
