Poros is a village on the hills of south-eastern Lefkada, set back and above the small bay of Mikros Gialos, off the road between Nidri and Sivota. It is an inland village in character, with stone houses and olive terraces, but the sea is a few minutes below it. It suits buyers who want a hillside position with views over the water and the mainland, near the harbours of the south coast, and who prefer a village to a resort.

Village and bay
Poros looks down over Mikros Gialos, the bay at its feet, and out to the channel between Lefkada and the mainland. The village keeps its old layout of stone houses and lanes, and the slopes around it are planted with olives that give way to scrub on the higher ground. The main road south continues to Sivota, whose enclosed harbour is a short drive on, and north to Vlicho and Nidri.
The market
Poros is part of the Apollonioi municipal unit, which covers the south-west of the island from here round to Vasiliki and which portal averages in 2026 put at around €4,750 per square metre, the highest on Lefkada. That figure is driven by the villas of Sivota and Vasiliki; in Poros itself the stock is older village houses, some renovated, and a growing number of villas on the slopes below the village towards the bay. Agency guidance for Lefkada puts a village house to renovate at €1,300–2,200 per square metre plus €800–1,200 per square metre of works, which is a useful frame for the traditional houses here. Buyers are mostly northern European, with German-speaking purchasers well represented in the south.
