The beach and the lagoon
The beach runs for several kilometres, wide and shallow, with the Korission lagoon and its dunes at the northern end, a protected wetland separated from the sea by the sand of Issos and Halikounas. Argyrades, the village that gives the beach its name, is up on the main road, and the road to Lefkimmi runs south from there. Corfu Town and the airport are a straightforward drive up the main road.

The stock is apartments and small houses near the beach, villas with pools on the flat land and low hills behind, older houses in Argyrades and the surrounding villages, and plots. British and Irish value buyers are the core of the market, and Dutch and Belgian buyers seeking new-build villas to let have been looking at this corner of the island, where a small managed complex near a long beach is the thing they want. Portal averages in 2026 put the Korissia municipal unit, which covers Agios Georgios Argyrades and the south-west, at around €1,690 per square metre, up about 3.5% on the year.
