Kontokali is a village on Corfu's east coast a few kilometres north of the town, within twenty minutes of the airport, on a small peninsula beside the Gouvia marina with the island's general hospital on the main road behind it. Area guide
The village
The peninsula has the marina on one side and a small beach and hotel on the other, with the old village between them and the main road to the north of the island running behind. Gouvia and its shops are next door, Corfu Town is a short drive south, and the hospital is at the door. It is not a place for a view over empty water: the bay is full of masts, and the view across to the mainland is one of the pleasures of living here.
Property and prices
Kontokali offers houses and apartments in and around the village, some older properties for renovation, villas on the low hill behind the road and a small number of plots. The buyer here is more often someone planning to live on Corfu for much of the year, or to keep a boat at the marina, than a summer visitor, and the hospital and the schools in town matter to them. Agency guidance for the near-town belt, which runs through Gouvia and Dassia, puts apartments at €2,200–3,200 per square metre and houses at €3,000–5,000, with a premium of 15–30% for a sea view; the island-wide portal average in 2026 is around €3,000 per square metre.
