Gouvia is a bay on Corfu's east coast a short drive north of the town, within twenty minutes of the airport, and the home of the island's principal marina, with 1,200 berths. The village behind it is a resort strip of bars, shops and apartments in summer, with the ruins of a Venetian shipyard on the shore and the villages of the low hills behind. It suits buyers with a boat, or who want a rentable apartment near town.

The marina and the bay
The marina, run by D-Marin, is in the middle of a €10 million improvement programme. The bay is sheltered, with the village and its beach on the south side, Kontokali on the peninsula that closes it, and the arches of the Venetian arsenal standing by the water. Inland, the hill villages are a few minutes away; Corfu Town is a short drive south and the road to the north-east coast runs past the door.
Property and prices
Gouvia's stock is apartments, many bought to let, houses on the slopes behind the resort, a few villas with sea views over the bay and marina, and plots on the hills. Buyers include boat owners who want to be near their berth, Israeli buyers seeking a property that can be let near the airport, and foreign residents who want to be near town without living in it. Agency guidance for the near-town belt, which names Gouvia alongside Kanoni and Dassia, puts apartments at €2,200–3,200 per square metre and houses at €3,000–5,000, with sea views commanding a premium of 15–30%; the whole-island portal average in 2026 is around €3,000 per square metre.
